Coming out with bounty

For people going through a hard time, especially those trying find God in the midst of sickness that doesn’t seem to shift…

You look up at the vast sky and wonder where I am Beloved. You look into the heavens and think you escape My notice. You think that you are too small and your life too insignificant to catch My attention. You cry out to Me from the depths of your being; you search the clouds, the sky, the heavens, the plants and creatures around you and you grieve that I am silent.

You look to the ant for wisdom. You see him hard at work. He knows where he is going. You wish you could ask him questions, about the purpose of life, of existence. You wish he would direct you and tell you where to go. You watch how fast he moves and are reminded that your own body won’t work. You feel I am withholding from you. So you withdraw from Me, believing I have failed you.

You look at the flowers around you. You congratulate Me on my artwork, My colour and texture designs, but you look at yourself, clothed in sickness, and mourn. The flowers bring you no comfort; they are meaningless to you.

You look at the trees and the longing grows within you to stand tall and straight, firm, immovable. The leaves are the trees’ crowning glory. You look away, disappointed, remembering all your mistakes. You sigh that you have lost your glory covering.

You look up at the birds wishing you had wings to fly. You see them far off in the sky, soaring together. You hear them calling out to one another. You begin to dream of flying and then you shut your mind, telling yourself it is nonsense to dream.

Then you look back up to the heavens, straining to catch a glimpse of Me. But you turn away disappointed. You say I’m too busy for you. You ask why would the Creator God care about your life, why would I pay attention to your hopes and give credence to your dreams?

Oh Beloved, I am not only Creator, I am that I am! I am self sufficient and am He who stoops down to hear your heart’s cry. I examine your heart daily and bend down to hear your voice. I lift you onto My lap and hold you in My arms. I am the God who sustains you, who carries you, who teaches you to fly. Remember My promise Beloved; Those who wait on Me renew their strength. They shall soar on wings as eagles, they shall run and not grow weary; they shall walk and not faint.

Patience is being outworked in you. It is a virtue I see lacking when I examine mankind. But patience must have its way, Beloved. I draw alongside the patient, sitting with them in their troubles. I come to them as a faithful companion and they grow a special bond with Me. The blessings for patience cannot be overestimated. Only the patient learn of its great reward. To them I show Myself strong on their behalf. They come to a greater, deeper, more meaningful knowledge of Me. Their relationship with Me lays a firm foundation. Their trust in Me becomes unshakeable.

Let patience finish her perfect work so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing! When I say lacking nothing, what do you think I mean by that? Is there anything I have missed out? No Beloved, I am standing by you as you develop patience. I am supporting you every day. So count it as pure joy, Beloved, whenever you face trials, because the testing of your faith produces patience.

I have given you a hope that won’t disappoint you. So keep rejoicing, Beloved. Keep singing, keep blessing, keep praising. Get ready for My wave of glory to wash over you. Prepare to receive because while you are cultivating patience, your harvest is maturing. Get ready for the bounty! You are coming out with gold!

SCRIPTURES

…we exult in hope of the glory of God. And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us. Romans 5:2-4

My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. James 1:2-4

When Jehoshaphat and his people came to take their spoil, they found much among them, including goods, garments and valuable things which they took for themselves, more than they could carry. And they were three days taking the spoil because there was so much. 2 Chronicles 20:25

You crown the year with your bounty, and your carts overflow with abundance. Psalm 65:11

All creatures look to you to give them their food at the proper time. When you give it to them, they gather it up; when you open your hand, they are satisfied with good things. Psalm 104:27-28

“…He will watch over his flock like a shepherd.’ For the Lord will deliver Jacob and redeem them from the hand of those stronger than they. They will come and shout for joy on the heights of Zion; they will rejoice in the bounty of the Lord— the grain, the new wine and the olive oil, the young of the flocks and herds. They will be like a well-watered garden, and they will sorrow no more. Then young women will dance and be glad, young men and old as well. I will turn their mourning into gladness; I will give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow. I will satisfy the priests with abundance, and my people will be filled with my bounty,” Jeremiah 31:10-14

The LORD will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none. Deuteronomy 28:12

When you, God, went out before your people, when you marched through the wilderness, the earth shook, the heavens poured down rain, before God, the One of Sinai, before God, the God of Israel. You gave abundant showers, O God; you refreshed your weary inheritance. Your people settled in it, and from your bounty, God, you provided for the poor. The Lord announces the word, and the women who proclaim it are a mighty throng: “Kings and armies flee in haste; the women at home divide the plunder. Psalm 68:7-12

“But if I go to the east, he is not there; if I go to the west, I do not find him. When he is at work in the north, I do not see him; when he turns to the south, I catch no glimpse of him. But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold. Job 23:8-10

Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Romans 12:12

What Sickness Cannot Steal…

Sickness can prevent many things and steal many things. It can rob you of many experiences in life. It can cause you to miss out on many special occasions, prevent you from meeting people and it can end friendships. Depending on its severity It can stop you from seeing friends for such long periods of time that everyone around you moves on in life and you are stuck in, what to them is, the past. Sickness can mock your dignity, steal your strength, strip you of confidence, squeeze out hope, insult your faith, hammer your independence away until you become fully dependent. Like a beast it devours its prey in its jaws. It can steal and destroy many things indeed.  but it cannot steal eternity from your heart;

“Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.” Ecclesiastes 3:11

It cannot rob us of eternal life;

“Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.” John 17:3

It cannot steal our joy, though it might put up such a fight for our joy that it frequently looks like it has won;

“and no one will take your joy from you.” John 16:22

It cannot overcome the peace of God, though it might often rage against it and appear to prevail;

“You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.” Isaiah 26:3

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:27

And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7

It cannot rob us of the love of God;

“For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39

Therefore, sickness is weak. Compared to the love of God, the peace of God, the joy of God, the presence of God, sickness is itself infirm. It cannot alter the word of God or erase the promises of God.

The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever. Isaiah 40:8

Forever, O LORD, Your word is settled in heaven. Your faithfulness continues throughout all generations; You established the earth, and it stands. They stand this day according to Your ordinances, For all things are Your servants. Psalm 119:89-91

I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. God does it so that people will fear him. Ecclesiastes 3:14

Is not my word like fire,” declares the LORD, “and like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces? Jeremiah 23:29

I bow down toward your holy temple and give thanks to your name for your steadfast love and your faithfulness, for you have exalted above all things your name and your word. psalm 138:2

In seeking out His promises, and abiding in His presence, by being still before Him and resting in His love, there is a healing to be found. A healing that meets each person at the point of their deepest need. Their greatest needs are met by the One who loves them wholly, even in their weakest state. He has made promises that endure forever; feast on them and recline in the arms of the Lover Of Your Soul.

To be found in His word there is fresh oil, healing balm, new wine, daily bread. There is living water, the sweetest honey and kisses from the Perfect Father. There are whispers of encouragement from the Greatest Encourager and warm embraces from the One friend who sticks closer than a brother. His words are spirit and they are life (John 6:63).

Let us partake and experience all that He has for us, in whatever state we find ourselves. Our God will not fail to meet with us. Sickness will not mock us, taunt us, cripple us nor rejoice over us forever. The Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in his wings and we will go free leaping with joy like calves let out to pasture. Malachi 4:2

If Your law had not been my delight, Then I would have perished in my affliction. I will never forget Your precepts, For by them You have revived me. I am Yours, save me; For I have sought Your precepts. Psalm 119:92-94

Revive us Lord! Prise open the jaws of sickness and of death and pull us out! Give us the strength to wriggle free as we feed on your promises!

“Uphold me according unto thy word, that I may live: and let me not be ashamed of my hope.” Psalm 119:116
